Corn

I'm sure everyone has a staple vegetable that you eat WAY too much of (or is that just us?)  We eat A LOT of canned green beans.  When I haven't been to the grocery store in a while it is always my go to.  Well tonight I'm feeling green beaned out and so I dug way back in my pantry and found canned corn.  Exciting.  Except I'm not sure what to do with it.  I normally make a corn souffle or a corn casserole or creamed corn.  Tonight, not so much.  When I heat a can of plain green beans I know just what spices to throw in to make them taste special.  With corn, I don't have a clue.  I turned to trusty friends Google and Tastebook and neither of them had an "add sugar and spice and all things nice" to make your canned corn taste great.  Apparently we're eating plain old canned corn tonight!

  3. We just throw a little salt and pepper on it. Corn is our go-to veggie. Mostly because it is the only one the hubs will eat! haha.

  4. Canned green beans are my favotire! I have been told that when I was younger I would like to eat them cold. That sounds nasty now, I much prefer to heat them up!

  5. Canned green beans and canned corn are our go to veggies. I add a little bit of sugar and milk to our corn to sweeten it up a bit. I hope yours turned out good.

  6. I am such a green bean lover that is what I make 90% of the time! If you like garlic and onion, my mil taught me her trick, simmer some garlic and finely minced onion in olive oil, brown it just a tad, add some green beans and viola! They are the best green beans ever! You make fancy corn! I usually just add a little 0 cal butter and call it done.. My mom adds a hint of sugar and it is good!

  7. I love canned corn, but, we don't really eat it all that often. We are squash people. Any kind of squash.. yumm...

  8. My family and I love canned corn. Paula Deen would just put a stick of butter in it, add a pinch of salt and call it a meal.

  9. we eat corn quite a bit...and we just dump it out of the can into a bowl and heat in the microwave. I dont think it really needs anything!
