Weigh-In Wednesday

I started trying to lose weight over Memorial Day Weekend (the start of summer).  Since then I have l have lost 19.9 lbs.  I posted my first Weigh-In Wednesday over Labor Day Weekend.  Since then I have lost 3.4 lbs.

Apparently blogging about weight loss isn't helping me much!

When I was doing it on my own and not talking about it I averaged a loss of 1.2 lbs a week (just under my goal of 1.5 a week).  Since I've been blogging about it I've only averaged 0.6 lbs a week.  At that rate I certainly won't reach my target weight by 2009 - but at least it keeps going in the right direction!  I was down 0.3 lbs this week.

The chart I made 6 weeks ago when I started looks a bit daunting as I keep getting closer to the end of my time frame, but not much closer to my goal weight.  I'm wondering if I need a new goal.

  2. But at least you are still loosing! Don't be too hard on yourself because it's better to loose a little than gain anything!=) I know it's a struggle, I've been up and down but I think you're doing great!

  6. Congratulations, that weightloss is awesome! You definitely put a tough goal on yourself, but I think you're doing great! I've lost 3-5 lbs in the last several weeks (I wrote on my site, I don't know exactly bc I keep the scale up a pound or two to play mind games with myself, ha!) :) Keep it up girl, you can do it!

  7. The point is that you are keeping it fresh in your mind and making conscious choices. That's what it's all about. If you're plateauing, just change things up a bit. Drink more water, walk that extra 15 min, etc. Our bodies get into a rut sometimes and we need to jumpstart them out of it.

GOOD FOR YOU on your CONSISTENCY!! (regardless of the #, it's still a loss!)

    :D

  11. Did you know that 1 pound = 3500 calories? 1.2 pounds isn't anything to be ashamed of, seriously!!!

  12. Ya know...I hear ya. I have been struggling with my weight, well...forever! I gave you some motivation the other week...and well, I am taking my own advice. I lost 5 lbs and then only like .6 and stuff like that. It adds up, but I totally understand the frustration. In the end it's all worth it...even if it takes awhile. And did you know that 10 lbs equals 40 sticks of butter?? One stick is just a quarter pound, but its still soooo worth getting that off your body! :)

  13. Congrats on losing - despite the ups and downs, you're moving in the right direction!

By the way, thanks for checking out my little blog. I'm in Austin, where it was also raining yet too hot to wear a coat today!
